What is a bullpen?

A bullpen is an area that is located beyond the outfield fence in baseball and is designated for warming up relief pitchers and coaches during games. The bullpen is usually a small, enclosed area where pitchers can throw and stretch before they enter the game.

In Major League Baseball, the bullpen is also a designated area where relief pitchers sit during games. When a starting pitcher is removed from the game, a relief pitcher usually comes in from the bullpen to continue pitching.

The bullpen can often be a high-pressure situation, as pitchers only have a short amount of time to warm up and prepare for their appearance in the game. Additionally, pitchers in the bullpen are often watching the game closely so that they can be ready to enter at a moment's notice if needed.
